I get asked a lot by brides for recommendations for wedding locations and venues, so I have put together a list of just a few of my favourites along with some images to give you an idea of the feel of each location.
The Grounds of Alexandria
The Grounds of Alexandria is an urban sanctuary with indoor garden atriums, fairy light arbours, recycled brick laneways, and a petting zoo, it is a unique location with endless possibilities for wedding photos.
Couples can choose to have their whole wedding onsite in The Gazebo, or to party the night away in The Atrium – either way it’s a fabulous venue – and the food is amazing!!
Centennial Parklands is situated in the heart of Sydney at Moore Park.
It is one of the most versatile venues for wedding photography in the Sydney CBD. With formal gardens, pine forests, grassed paddocks, and a Paperbark Grove it provides ample locations for location photography and is a stunning backdrop for your ceremony if you are looking for an outdoor venue.
It also has a gorgeous wet weather option inside Centennial Homestead.
The Blue Mountains is the ultimate location for adventurous couples.
With incredible backdrops, epic vistas, rolling mists, forests and amazing sunsets – what more could a wedding photographer wish for?
I may be a little biased as it is my own backyard!!
Some of the amazing venues across the mountains include Seclusions, Lilanfels, Echoes, Chapel Hill, Loxley on Bellbird, Fairmont Resort Leura, Leura Gardens Resort and The Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens at Mount Tomah.
There is also ample airbnb and bed & breakfast options for DIY bride and grooms.
This wonderful gem is located on Bells Line of Road in Bilpin.
With an epic pine forest for the ceremony, paddocks and forests for photography and a marquee to hold the reception in, it is the ultimate all in one venue.
The staff here are lovely who go above and beyond for their couples, they also have onsite accommodation.
Orso Bayside Reception
Located at the Spit in Mosman, Orso is a waterfront venue that provides a friendly, personalised service for their couples.
They recently won Best Reception Centre and Function Co-Ordinator of the year!
Poolside at the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool
This is the perfect venue if you are looking for an intimate location, with a great party vibe. Looking out over Woolloomooloo Bay and right next door to the Botanic Gardens it’s a wonderful location with friendly, helpful staff.
The Zin House, Mudgee
I adore photographing country weddings as the food and backdrop are always incredible, and The Zin House at Mudgee is no exception.
The Zin House is a relatively new restaurant situated on an organic and biodynamic farmland and vineyard in the Mudgee wine region, they grown their own food or use their neighbours.
